PANKI THERMAL POWER STATION INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Panki in the third row
It was a great opportunity for us to visit Panki Thermal Power Station with two of our faculty members Asst. Prof.-Mr. Pankaj Gupta and Asst. Prof.- Mr. Viplav Diwakar Gola. We had started our journey from Lucknow and reached Kanpur by bus. It was a rural area, which was 16km away from the main city. We had stopped the bus 5 times and asked locals about the way to plant. Finally, with a little struggle we reached the plant. There was a bright in our eyes when we were in front of the gate of the plant. Entering the plant we were ordered to left our luggage in the bus
.
Cops of the Central Industrial Security Forces- C.I.S.F. were deployed there for the security of the plant. After entering, we met Mr. Sushil Chandra Sharma-Asst. Engg.- U.P.R.V.U.N.L. Walking with him we reached the central hall of the plant. It was an air conditioned hall, with a sitting capacity of 50 seats in which a white board, a projector and a 7-segment display was installed. Later we came to know 7-segment display was continuesly showing the instantaneous load on the plant in MW on the left and right side and frequency between the loads.
Now Mr. Sharma started briefing us for half an hour and after that the Executive Engineer entered the hall. Ex-Engg. sir briefed us about the Transmission system and much more in 1 Hour.
In between this, we have given refreshment (tea and biscuits) provided by the plant authority.
